Paul Mccartney Got Emotional Remembering Linda on Amy Poehler’s Podcast, and Said Stella Moved Exactly Like Her as a Newborn

Paul McCartney accepted a tissue from Amy Poehler as he remembered his late wife Linda on Good Hang, telling her he was “getting emotional.” He called Linda “something else” and a “tough, tough lady.”

On the October 13 episode, McCartney recalled how fiercely Linda cared about animals. Someone eating meat at dinner could expect her to challenge them. He also remembered her saying of a frog, “Its mommy loved it.”

Poehler brought up Chrissie Hynde, who appears in the documentary Man on the Run. McCartney recalled Linda getting Hynde talking, describing Hynde as “a dude.”

Their daughter Stella also joined the episode, calling from England. McCartney remembered seeing her make a movement exactly like Linda’s while she was still a newborn in an incubator, before she could’ve learned it from her mother.

Paul and Linda married on March 12, 1969. Linda died of breast cancer on April 17, 1998, at 56.
