Harry Styles stopped his Madison Square Garden show on Saturday, Oct. 10, night 21 of his run, and asked a sold-out crowd to think about Oscar Belgal, the 28-year-old man shot by ICE in his car in the Bronx on Oct. 8 while his 5-year-old son sat in the back seat. Belgal survived and is being held at a detention facility.
“I just want us to take a moment to think about Oscar Belgal tonight,” Styles said, guitar in hand, pausing before “Sign of the Times.” He told the room to remember “the people who don’t look like you and aren’t born where you are from: they deserve respect, love, dignity,” and closed with “Please get home safely and look after each other.”

He never said the word “ICE.”
Styles was photographed on Thursday heading out on foot in New York to meet up with friends, five days after the moment that put his residency in the news for something other than the music.

He’s in the thick of his “Together, Together” residency, a 30-show run that opened Aug. 26 and plays Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through a “Harryween” finale on Oct. 31. It’s the New York leg of the tour behind his fourth album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” his first run of live shows since 2023, and his only U.S. dates this year.
The walking itself is something he’s talked about lately. In a Rolling Stone conversation with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke published Oct. 8, Styles traced his comfort being out in public to an ex-girlfriend who got him walking everywhere, saying it “changed my life in such a big way, because it’s how you stay connected to the world.”
