On October 8, a blue-checked Instagram fan page posted a selfie of Mia Goth in a “MY EX IS MY BIGGEST FAN” T-shirt, two days after the actress filed to divorce Shia LaBeouf. It read as a shot at him, and People published a story treating the post as Goth’s own before taking it down.
Goth, 32, has no part in any of it, her team says. “Mia has and never will engage with social media,” according to a statement her rep gave Us Weekly on October 9.

By October 13, her team had escalated things, branding the image a counterfeit and faulting Instagram for allowing it to spread. “We have filed multiple complaints with Instagram to remove the verified fan account which continues to post counterfeit, AI images of Mia Goth,” the statement read.
“The fact that this fan account meets Instagram’s criteria to qualify for a ‘blue check’ is disconcerting on a fundamental level. Beyond that, it is incomprehensible that Instagram evidently prioritizes the dissemination of forged and manipulated images over the protection and integrity of a public figure’s likeness.”

Meta said the account was “removed for impersonating a public figure.”
Goth filed on October 6, citing irreconcilable differences and listing July 28, 2025 as the separation date. For Isabel, the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, she requested primary legal and physical custody.
Though LaBeouf hasn’t addressed the filing, he said of their arrangement earlier this year: “We’re good as is. We’re in a good spot… we’re trying to figure out co-parenting, and we’re good.”
